Hello again. This new post is about video games and how they affect today's youth. Being part of this large group of video game-playing teens, I believe video games are alright, at certain amounts. I actually know people who have played video games for literally five months straight! In my eyes this is unbelievable and I personally would get frustrated and obsessed with the game.
Although video games on occasion (meaning every three weeks or so or with friends) are fun, and not dangerous, they can become addictive. People in this world think life is a game like Halo or Assassin's creed that when if you die, you'll always get another life. Unfortunately, this is not how the world works. If you decide to flip over your car because someone is following you, there will be a price to pay and that is with your life.
Video games can be educational and that is where they come in handy. Games like Brain Age help develop the teenage mind through culminating activities and Sudokus. However, teenagers aren't into that kind of stuff. All they want to do is "pwn noobs" using AK-47's and what not. Let's hope the adults of tomorrow are not so crazed with games and actually do good in life.
All in all, video games are alright in certain quantities. We shouldn't do the things we see characters do in those video games because who knows what might happen. Also, video games that help stimulate the brain is always good for a developing mind and may help the teenager on his/her way to success.
PS: A word to all those intense gamers out there, cut back on the games and do some homework!

Hilarious, I wanted to mention that in my blog but I totally forgot about it!
Good point about educational games but unfortunately, like you said not many people are into that. Also, I agree playing video games is great, it's usually even more fun.
You made some great points in this entry Eryk! I agree that educational games are good to improve skills, and how games are unrealistic. In a game, you have an unlimited amount of lives, in the real world, you certainly do not. But I like to think of games as something fun to do with friends ;)
Haha people staying home for five months to play video games
but seriously kids today need to have more goals in life then just "pwning n00bs"
great epic blog eryk
I agree with Olivia. Unfortunately, games like Brain Age and even games like Wii Fit (which are good for teens to play) are not accepted by them.
I also liked how you mentioned that alot of gamers will think that in life there is a second life after you die or get shot, like in a game. As silly as that sounds, I do know many people who have been brain washed by games, and eat , sleep, breathe GAMING!
