Eccentrick... You get the wordplay?

So this year, like many years, Mary Ward had its very own art show called Eccentrick. The theme of this years art show was eccentricity as you can easily tell from the name. But this year was much different from any other. New artists with new pieces of art were welcomed to our school such as the grade nines. Every year, the grade nines think of a giant sculpture they can make that will go with the theme of the art show and this year's was extravagant. With the help of Mr. Notten, the grade nines came up with the idea of making a giant skull which is quit eccentric itself, but to add to the wonder, each grade nine made a tiny skull expressing them self. It was absolutely mind blowing!

Some of the past sculptures have been totem poles, Chinese dynasty rooms and giant sleeping women mixed with nature, but this one definitely takes the cake. With it's impressive size and eye catching magnificence, it is definitely the best piece i saw in all of the art show this year. Way to go Grade nines, keep it up!

technology in our crazy world

Technology. It is something that may end up ruling the world. However, technology is the greatest thing that has ever happened to humans since the invention of the wheel. technology includes anything from a computer to an airplane and much more in between. Without technology, we would be as primitive as primates and there would be no amazing things that we could use everyday. But have we abused technology to it's fullest potential?

The answer is yes, we have. The video of Louis C.K. is basically just him making fun of humans and how they are such a needy species. We can't wait for anything to load even though there are third world countries that don't need to load anything because they don't have anything to load them from! We have actually become way to reliant on technology and it needs to stop sooner rather than later because it will over take us.

Unfortunately, everyone is on of those people who can't stand waiting for something to load, but can you blame us, everything now a days is so simple and fast that when something takes 5 minutes, it feels like forever. There's nothing we can really do about this problem. The only thing i can think of right here on the spot is to completely banish technology until we appreciate it again. Of course this would never work because then we would be back to square one in the chart of evolution.

Although Louis C.K. has a point, there was probably at least one point in his life when he took advantage of technology and eventually got frustrated. I mean, he is a rich guy, and it's not like he's Amish, so he probably owns a PS3 or a Mac laptop. Who's to say those never restarted on him when he was working on something very important. Being frustrated is just a side effect that comes with the drug known as technology.

Thank you.

PS I have seen some of Louis C.K.'s stand up comedy acts and they are actually really funny!

CELL PHONE MANNERS MATTER!!!!!!

From table manners to everyday life manners such as saying excuse me have been passed down from generation to generation for the past three hundred or so years. Manners will soon be a part of each person's nature and it will be as fluent as breathing. Now if these manners are centuries old, if you bring a new thing to have manners for, you might not no the manners for that thing. In this case the new thing is cell phones.

Cell phones were only created about 25 years ago so they are fairly new like computers and internet. But have we as the technological generation abused our rights to cell phones simply because we have no manners while we're on them? The simple answer; yes. However, this problem can be easily fixed with a set of ground rules.

GOLDEN RULES FOR CELL PHONE USERS:

1) While with company, refrain from answering a call or texting someone in their presence. Ask if you can be excused.

2) If you decide to answer a call in a public area, try not to speak at the top of your lungs. No one cares what Brian did to Stacy...

3) Keep the text amount to a minimum. Trust me, it will help you save money at the end of the month and you won't go blind from constantly staring at that tiny screen.

4) When in an area where you absolutely need to be working, shut off your cell phone. All it really is is a distraction.

5) Always keep your phone on vibrate. I don't care if you bought the new Poker Face ringtone for 7 $ on your phone, i really don't want to hear it.

Those are the 5 golden rules to cell phone etiquette. PLEASE STICK TO THEM!!!!!

Thank you for your time.
